About the team Our Data Protection, Governance and Ethics service line provides consulting services to clients in almost every sector and industry, and is continuously growing its portfolio \xe2\x80\x93 both nationally and across the globe. The service line is part of the Technology & Digital Practice which sits within our Advisory and Consulting Branch. This is a management and consulting role that will place you at the core of helping our clients deal with evolving and complex challenges, centred around Data Protection, Governance and Ethics, and require you to be a leader to other members of the team. We aim to bring the best in industry understanding, technology, innovation and expertise to support our clients. About the role As an Assistant Manager, you\'ll help drive the growth of the service line by supporting on business development initiatives and activities, take responsibility for the delivery and management of our Data Protection, Governance and Ethics engagement portfolio, and be a positive and proactive leader to the members of the team.

  • Leading the delivery and management of our engagements, projects and programmes globally, providing technical and hands on support to the team and wider stakeholders
  • Financial and budgetary responsibilities for the service line, including operational performance and engagements costs
  • Client and wider/internal stakeholder development and management
  • Leading and/or being actively involved in business development initiatives / activities to help identify and scope opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Development of propositions in line with market needs and trends
  • Support our presence and growth in targeted markets and developing thought leadership materials
  • Monitor and evaluate evolving laws, rules, regulations, standards and guidance to help ensure our service offerings maintain compliance and strategic alignment
  • Developing Data Protection, Governance and Ethics related policies, procedures and wider tools for clients
  • Provide subject matter expertise and insights on a variety of Data Protection, Governance and Ethics-related programs, initiatives, and workflows
  • Developing strategies to solve complex challenges and helping other team members develop these skills
  • Line management responsibilities, including the development and progression of team members
  • Training, coaching, and supervising others
What are we looking for?
  • Professional services orientation - must have the ability to build relationships, articulate Data Protection, Governance and Ethics matters and communicate confidently with stakeholders at various levels
  • Strong people, programme and project management experience with proven ability of helping to drive issues to resolution, strong independent judgment, and ability to evaluate risk
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, flexible, able to navigate transformational growth and ambiguity, show initiative and anticipate needs, and able to focus on multiple workstreams at once
  • Well organised and able to deal with large amounts of information
  • Experience in drafting and delivering proposals, whilst understanding effective delivery to different stakeholders
  • Experience in business development initiatives / activities, including publishing written work e.g. blogs, articles, newsletters, brochures and website content
  • Experience in conducting gap/maturity assessments in Data Protection, Governance and/or Ethics and delivering report outputs
  • Experience in reviewing documents and reports of others and providing feedback
  • A good understanding of technology, privacy and security issues affecting organisations across industries
  • Up to date knowledge across the privacy landscape, data protection laws, specifically in the UK, EU and US, and the ability to provide clear, precise and practical summaries.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written is essential
  • A high level of computer literacy, proficiency in MS Office - PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Team-focused with a passion for learning, excellence and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate respect and integrity in working with others at all levels of the business
  • Proven experience in training, coaching, supervising and developing others
  • Certification desired but not essential (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPP/A, CIPM, CIPT, DAMA, and Data Governance, Ethics or AI related)
  • A keen eye for business development opportunities
  • Experience and understanding of internal auditing desirable
