We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Data Scientist.

The purpose of the role is to develop predictive models and undertake advance statistical analysis within UK Commercial Banking.

The main purpose of the role is:

  • Operating at the principle of analytics, the role requires the job holder to apply the best possible combination of applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and visualisation to large, complex data sets to generate customer and business solutions.
  • Deliver a pipeline of projects that; drives revenue, focuses on enhancing the customer service experience, increases the control framework
  • Collaborate with teams to curate dashboards and interactive visualisation tools for data exploration, deep dives with stakeholders and storytelling to both technical and non-technical audiences and users.
  • Drive the future development of our existing capabilities and delivery of new capabilities in the area of Machine Learning and AI
  • Work closely with stakeholders to build a strong pipeline of impactful projects to turn data into insightful information and knowledge which can then translate to business benefits.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to provide new and novel solutions to business problems founded on data driven inputs and outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Significant experience using advanced statistics and modelling techniques such Linear, non-linear regression, logistics regression, classification and clustering techniques - preferably in financial services.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and tools such as Big Query and GCP.
  • A track record of using data to solve complex problems
  • Understanding of Commercial Banking environment is desirable
  • Experience in data visualisation and presenting data.
  • Experience working with offshore development, analysis & test teams
  • Hands on working experience of working on an Agile project
The base location for this role can be Birmingham or London with Hybrid working.
