About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Data Analyst to work for our client in the banking sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully remote role.



As a Senior Data Analyst you will play a valuable role in our fight against financial crime, working with significant amounts of data to extract meaningful insights to develop, review, manage and optimise automated TM controls focused upon the client's business. The successful candidate will work with a variety of stakeholders to contribute to strengthening the client's Anti-Money Laundering Controls.


Responsibilities:




Independently driving initiatives, coordinating junior team members and influencing stakeholders to strengthen automated transaction monitoring controls. Accessing complex and distributed datasets and perform statistical analysis, simulation of existing controls and assess the impact of specific changes. Working with the team and stakeholders to understand business requirement and develop technical design for TM Controls based on data insights. Providing suggestions for the re-design of existing TM controls or design of new controls. Manage the optimisation of existing TM controls through quantitative data analysis (including Above and Below the Line testing). Analysing, assessing and documenting the effectiveness and efficiency of existing automated transaction monitoring controls.

About You

5 years of experience in a similar role Data analyst/scientist with professional levels of tools such as Python or R; Extensive experience working with complex data analysis, simulation and documentation; Previous experience in the Financial Crime Compliance field and good understanding of anti-money laundering/financial crime controls Proactive, result oriented, structured and able to operate under pressure in a changing environment Organised, structured and professional in taking initiative and work proactively under own direction Strong stakeholder management

Desirable Skills:




Previous experience in Model Validation; Good statistical knowledge. Familiarity with rule-based Transaction Monitoring systems FCC domain knowledge (e.g. Correspondent Banking, Trade Finance, Capital Markets, Loans)
