The Department of Computer and Information Sciences in partnership with Lifelink (https://www.lifelink.org.uk/) are seeking to appoint a KTP Associate (either a Data Solutions Architect with ML capabilities, or a Data Scientist with strong data engineering skills) to develop a centralised data warehouse and scheduling system that will transform the delivery of mental health services. By integrating multiple data sources and automating reporting, and exploiting this rich pool of historical data, this project will improve operational efficiency, support personalised delivery, and enable data driven decision making, delivering meaningful insights for therapists, leadership, and commissioners. The post will be predominantly based at Lifelink premises in Glasgow with visits to the University of Strathclyde campus.

Lifelink are one of the largest 3rd sector mental health and wellbeing service providers in Scotland and provide the only NHS outsourced mild to moderate support service of its kind in Scotland. Lifelink recognise that by better understanding service users (who access services, their service use/needs) Lifelink can gain insight to support service optimisation, predicting future needs, tailoring Lifelink offerings, and improving operational efficiency.

You will be based predominantly at the company's premises in Glasgow, but will be employed by and have access to facilities of the University of Strathclyde. Further academic support from the project will be provided by Professor Marilyn Lennon and Dr Mark Dunlop from the Department's Digital Health and Wellness Research Group. A key feature of the KTP position is a personal training and development allowance of 5,000 that you can use to develop skills related to the project that will help you to advance your career. You will also have the opportunity to register for a research degree (free of charge) based on the work carried out on the project.

The position offers the KTP Associate the following benefits:
KTP Associates spend around 10% of their time in training and personal development. At the start of the KTP you get a training budget of 2000 per year to manage - so you decide which courses would benefit you.

You'll 'own' your own project, linked to both a university and a business whose experienced teams will provide you with full support. Applying academic knowledge to a real-world challenge, this is a chance to deliver impact and shape your career.

KTPs offer extensive opportunities for graduates and post-grads, as you provide the link between an expert academic team and a dynamic company. This 'bridge' gives you unique and exceptional access to both worlds.

An opportunity to tailor-make your role, as each KTP Associate position is unique. This is a chance to manage a challenging, real-world project and implement a strategic development within an innovative company.

You also have the opportunity to register on a higher degree (no cost while in post).

The project is part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme that aims to help businesses to innovate and grow by working with UK universities. Successful Knowledge Transfer Partnership projects are funded by UK Research and Innovation through Innovate UK and are part of the government's Industrial Strategy.
