Role: Database Administrator



Location: We operate a hybrid schedule, meaning 2-3 days a week in the office based at Thorpe Park, Leeds.



Salary: DOE, plus extensive benefits



Contract type: Permanent



Employment type: Full time



Working hours: We work on a core hours principle. Our core hours are 09:30 - 16:00; you can work around these to suit you!

As DBA you will be responsible for the configuration, availability, integrity and security of all databases and data sources. Our tech teams keep us running 24/7 to make sure all our patients get world class service. To support that, this role may include participation in an out-of-hours rota as required by the business. We operate fair scheduling process as well as additional compensation for all on call periods.

What you'll be doing?



Ensure all database platforms are highly available Ensure all data sources are secure and access is controlled, reviewed, and audited Support BI developers, application experts and middleware developers in their efforts to integrate and report on data in an accurate and reliable manner Work with third parties for new installations, upgrades, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and general advice and guidance as required to ensure all delivered services meet requirements Respond to support escalations from DevOps and technical colleagues, providing specific expertise for troubleshooting as required Build strong relationships in the business to understand business objectives, specific data requirements and how the data you maintain adds value to the business Controlled execution of data management tasks Configure, maintenance and get maximum value from proactive monitoring using tools such as Redgate and New Relic Population and maintenance of software development lifecycle environments

Who are we looking for?



Experience with tools such as SQL Server 2019 and Azure SQL Proven ability as a Database Administrator in a similar role Strong operations experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis Experience of performance tuning and optimizing Strong proficiency with Microsoft T-SQL Excellent communication skills, and attention to detail Experience using native and third-party performance monitoring tools such as Redgate SQL Monitor and New Relic
