Job Opportunity: Day Nursery General Assistant (Level 2)

bambooh Day Nurseries is seeking a dedicated Day Nursery General Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you'll not only support daily operations but also help present engaging lessons to children aged 9 months to 4 years, fostering a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning and Maintenance:

- Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic nursery environment.

- Sanitize toys, play areas, and equipment regularly.

- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.

2. Supervision and Child Safety:

- Assist nursery staff in supervising children during activities and playtime.

- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, following safety protocols and emergency procedures.

3. Lesson Presentation and Child Engagement:

- Support in presenting age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with the EYFS framework.

- Foster curiosity and learning through interactive play and hands-on activities.

- Encourage positive social interactions and development of key skills.

4. Food Preparation and Service:

- Help prepare meals and snacks, including cutting fruits and ensuring proper food hygiene.

- Serve meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.

- Keep the kitchen area clean and organized.

5. Team Collaboration:

- Work effectively with nursery staff and maintain open communication.

- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

- Contribute to fostering a positive and supportive team environment.

Qualifications:

- Level 2 childcare qualification (or equivalent).

- Prior experience in childcare or early years education is preferable.

- Advanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain; we can assist with this).

- Confidence in supporting lesson delivery and engaging with young children.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning and safety protocols.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and schedules.

- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain).

- Ability to pass background checks and maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift heavy babies

- Stamina to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

- Comfortable working in various weather conditions for outdoor tasks.
