We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of childcare professionals, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood development while managing the organisational aspects of the nursery. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise nursery staff, fostering a positive team environment characterised by effective communication and collaboration
Oversee daily nursery operations, including planning activities that promote early childhood education and development
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding regulations to maintain a secure environment for children and staff
Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards and best practices in childcare
Manage administrative tasks such as staffing schedules, record keeping, and liaising with parents or guardians to discuss children's progress
Coordinate training programmes for staff to ensure continuous professional development in early childhood education principles
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the nursery premises
Drive community engagement initiatives to promote the nursery's services and build strong relationships with families
Requirements
Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations in the UK
Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills in English
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are desirable
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transport-related responsibilities or outreach activities
Exceptional interpersonal skills to liaise confidently with parents, staff, and external agencies
Commitment to safeguarding children's welfare at all times
