We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a genuine passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of staff, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Duties
Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staff scheduling and resource allocation
Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
Oversee the development and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and Ofsted standards
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and wellbeing
Organise staff training sessions to promote professional development within the team
Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and reporting requirements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery services and operational efficiency
Skills
Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to organise, motivate, and lead a diverse team of childcare professionals
Experience working with children across various age groups
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations in childcare environments
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning
Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation duties or outreach activities
