Job Title: Daycare Support Worker
Hours of work: 24 hours, standard pattern, Tuesdays (9am to 5pm), Wednesdays (9am to 5pm), Thursdays (9am to 5pm). Each day includes a 30 minute paid working lunch break.
Salary: Real Living Wage 12.60 per hour (15,724.80 p.a.)
Holidays: pro-rata FTE of 30 days, including 10 public holidays
Reporting to: Day Services Manager
Purpose of Job
To provide exceptional quality emotional, social and physical support for vulnerable older people, as part of the day services staff team.

Service users feel respected and valued
Service users are provided with an enriching environment which promotes well being
Service user care plans and risk assessments are completed and maintained
Service users are safely transported to and from their homes
Main Duties:
Service users' well-being
Work with all the staff to develop positive relationships with the service user, carers and others (e.g. family and friends) in order to assist in maintaining the service user's well-being, personal skills, activities and relationships
To support all staff in creating and maintaining a socially enriching and safe environment, and in maintaining the highest standards of quality care
To ensure the needs of service users are met in accordance with the care plan, National Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice
To assist with implementation and monitoring of individual care plans
To participate in service users' internal care reviews
To work as a key worker to service users as required
To treat all service users with respect and ensure privacy, dignity and right of choice
To act in a non-judgemental and non-discriminatory manner and to promote equality and diversity
To report all issues of potential concern to the Day Services Manager
Health and Safety
To conform with Health and Safety - including infection prevention control
To ensure the Day Service Centre and all equipment is safe for use, properly maintained and kept clean and secure
Personal care
To offer assistance to support individuals with mobility
To support individuals in attending to their personal care
Medication
To prompt service users to take medication and to keep accurate records
Transport
To escort people to and from the Day Service. From time to time moving and handling will be required of this position
To assist with ensuring that all transport needs are appropriately organised
To assist service users with using the stair-lift and Flex-Step
Activities
To help set up and facilitate group activities, offering one-to-one assistance to enable individuals to participate in group activities
To facilitate activities as required
Food preparation
To assist with meals and refreshments including planning, ordering, food preparation, serving, clearing and washing dishes
To take and maintain food temperature records
Record keeping
To write daily notes in service users' care plans
To maintain service users' confidentiality
Staff development
To attend regular staff meetings, training sessions and supervision
Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Day Service Manager
