An opportunity has become available to join Freeman College, Ruskin Mill Trust, as part of the committed day time support team focusing on the holistic needs of the students.
This role can be both physically and emotionally demanding, and you must have the confidence and patience to deal with and manage the challenging and complex behaviours that our young people can present.

To be successful in this role you will:
Have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem-solve and think creatively to enable our students to reimagine their potential
Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience, and to have the capacity to react calmly in stressful situations
Be able to supervise and support students throughout the college day, both in sessions and free time
Encourage and engage students to attend planned sessions and to help them become engaged in the curriculum activities
Have a sense of humour, an ability to build successful and positive relationships when young people are disengaged all whilst maintaining professional boundaries without being directive and have some flexibility in your approaches to working with our young people
Navigate and appropriately respond to ever changing student dynamics
Have knowledge of specialist education and experience of working with SEN learners
A driving licence would be advantageous (access to a vehicle is not necessary)
