We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. The Deputy Manager will assist the Manager in overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of care and education.
Duties
Assist the Manager in the organisation and supervision of daily centre activities, ensuring smooth operations.
Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's development.
Lead and motivate staff members, fostering a positive team environment centred on teamwork and professional growth.
Oversee child safety protocols, ensuring all children are cared for in a secure environment.
Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
Ensure compliance with childcare legislation, health and safety regulations, and organisational policies.
Support recruitment, training, and performance management of nursery staff.
Assist in managing administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning rotas, and resource management.
Drive organisational initiatives to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare legislation.
Experience working with children, ideally within nursery or early years environments.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating initiative.
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting resources or attending external meetings.
Passionate about child development with a caring attitude towards children's needs.
Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. This role is vital in supporting our centre's mission to provide high-quality care and education for young children while fostering a positive environment for staff development and parental engagement.
