Your Role as a Day Support Worker
As part of a supportive, child-focused team, you will provide hands-on care and emotional support to young people in a nurturing home environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing personalised care and daily living support.
Building positive, trusting relationships to help young people feel safe and understood.
Encouraging social, emotional and personal development through structured activities.
Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
Maintaining a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.
Recording and reporting accurately on any changes in behaviour or wellbeing.
Working closely with families, colleagues and external professionals.
Travelling when required to support young people in different settings.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience supporting children or young people (residential or similar setting preferred).
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
Patience, empathy and resilience.
A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Flexibility to work structured rotas, including evenings and weekends.
A collaborative and supportive approach to teamwork.
Desirable:
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Workforce.
First Aid training.
Experience supporting children with complex or challenging behaviours.
Full UK driving licence.
