DDaT Business Operations Junior Manager

Salary:

The starting salary is 38,926, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.


The salary is broken down as 35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 38,523. Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

The primary Met Location for this role is either Bow, Hendon or Sidcup. Travel across the Met Estate, to attend meetings as required by the business, is expected.

Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT)




The mission of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) is to provide the Met with information (and specifically data), communications and technology to help frontline officers and Met staff do their jobs more efficiently, to deliver the New Met for London plan. In other words, DDaT is about "passionately delivering trusted technology for precise data driven policing".


As well as keeping up to speed with developments in technology and making recommendations for new equipment and systems that will help modernise policing, DDaT also comprises the Data Office which:

Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda. Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas. Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services. Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

Job Purpose




To assist in maintaining a successful DDaT Risk, Issue & Audit process - this area has had significant growth in terms of responsibility and thus requires the resource to plan, manage and drive activity across all our business areas in DDaT.


To assist in establishing and maintaining a successful DDaT Police Portfolio.

Key Role Responsibilities



This current vacancy is for a DDaT Business Operations Junior Manager - our current requirement means that the successful candidate would be working primarily in the area of Risk and Audit, but will also assist with Policy, Business Planning and Communications as required. Therefore, skills relating to these areas would also be beneficial to the applicant.




Our DDaT Business Operations model requires strong and well-established processes, and the role holder will be critical to help establish these - and to maintain them once they are in place. This includes risk management, policy, tasking and coordination, business continuity planning, risk, issue and audit tracking, as well as supporting business planning in line with our pending Digital & Data Strategy.


The role holder will be expected to:

Engage with stakeholders to embed successful processes for an established Business Operations model in various areas as outlined above. Feel confident in taking part in a review of our current 'as is' model, identifying areas for improvement and make recommendations for change. Will work closely with the Senior Leads to support the necessary business change. Help establish the process of how we manage our internal performance and track progress against milestones. Feel confident in communicating effectively with wider DDaT as to any changes being made.

Vetting Clearance




For this role the Vetting Clearance is Force Clearance Level, Recruitment Vetting (RV), and National Security Vetting (NSV) Level, Counter Terrorism Check (CTC).

Experience of working successfully with managers and leaders at a senior level. Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written. Analytical skills & ability to make evidence-based recommendations. Experience in assisting the implementation of change.

Desirable Criteria:



Experience in Risk Management and/or Audit. Experience in relation to Policy & Business Planning.
