We have an exciting opportunity for a Deaf Education Coordinator to join our Deaf Education Centre at the Communication Specialist College - Doncaster.
We are a specialist college for students who have Individual communication needs including:
Deafness / hard of hearing
Autistic Spectrum Conditions
Learning disabilities and difficulties
At Communication Specialist College Doncaster, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive educational environment for all students, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Teacher of the Deaf to lead and lead and coordinate our Deaf Education Centre, ensuring that our deaf and hard-of-hearing students receive the highest quality education and support.
This position is offered on a full-time, permanent contract basis with a start date for the successful applicant in the new academic year.
Can you demonstrate:
Qualified Teacher of the Deaf Status (or willingness to work towards)
Level 3 in British Sign Language (BSL) willingness to work towards Level 4
Experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students in an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of D/deaf education, inclusive teaching practices, and assistive technologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Secure knowledge of relevant subject (s) and curriculum areas
An understanding of the factors contributing to successful outcomes in education for young people with SEND
The ability to evaluate colleagues work and provide supportive feedback
