The role




Reporting into the 'Manager of Funding and Modelling', the 'DCM Analyst' will be a key SME in relation to external market issuance of funding. The role will go beyond supporting the day-to-day management and reporting of existing secured and unsecured funding, but also include supporting future execution, management and reporting of risk exposures against associated limits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.


The individual will support in delivering the Group's Wholesale Funding strategy, planning, and associated capital market issuances of the Group


The role holder will be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the modelling of data for the relevant components in the funding plans or transactions. This includes confirming the completeness and accuracy of data and the associated outputs and establishing appropriate controls. Therefore, the individual should have an awareness of wholesale funding markets and associated regulations and experience of using large volumes of data in models, and demonstrate an ability to co-ordinate and manage workstreams across multiple cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:



Support the 'Manager of Funding and Modelling' as required, in the co-ordination and execution of specific capital markets transactions/projects, managing the project plan through to completion and the outcomes post launch Support the production of assessments of proposed transactions with cost and benefit analysis to determine if it would meet the Group's target funding structure Produce analysis of emerging trends in financial markets which could impact the Group's funding strategy and plans Support the process to create, validate, implement, document and maintain any models used for funding purposes, including the forecast amortisation of loan pools and stress testing scenarios based on macroeconomic developments Produce cash flow forecasts prepared for securitisation transaction level and funding plan purposes Production of any early warning indicators and investor reporting for securitisation transactions Monitor covenant compliance and management information for funding transactions Process requests from investors, either during the marketing phase of new transactions or post-closing

Experience required:



Experience gained in UK Bank/Building Society Treasury environment or NBFI with knowledge of Securitisations and/or Debt Capital Markets Good communication and the ability to build trust and influence at senior management level Good understanding of financial markets, financial instruments and debt instruments Good understanding of accounting principles Excellent time management and organisational ability Ability to influence stakeholders A track record of developing and delivering process improvement would be advantageous Expertise in managing data (primarily Excel and ideally SQL) with a very strong attention to detail, with an equal focus on effectively communicating key messages both within and outside Treasury Minimum 2-3 years experience of working in a capital markets and / or treasury function of a financial services business, preferrably in a UK Bank or Building Society or Non-Banking Financial Institution (NFBI) mono-lender reliant on wholesale funding markets. Securitisation experience is strongly preferred. Good understanding of debt capital markets, debt issuance and hedging instruments Understanding of the typical credit analysis and perspectives of debt investors across the capital structure Experience of supporting capital market transactions across a broad range of debt issues (secured/collateralised, unsecured, Tier 2 and liability management exercises) would be advantageous.

Location:

London or Bradford (Hybrid working)

Working Pattern:

Hybrid--typically a couple of days a week in the office. Part-time or flexible arrangements are considered to support work-life balance.
