Job Purpose:

The Debt Management Financial Review Advisor plays a crucial role in helping individuals manage and resolve their financial difficulties. This position involves conducting comprehensive financial assessments, providing tailored advice, and supporting clients in creating sustainable debt repayment plans. The advisor ensures that all guidance aligns with regulatory standards and promotes positive financial behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed financial reviews of clients' income, expenditure, debts, and assets. Assess client eligibility for debt management plans (DMPs) and other debt solutions. Provide accurate, non-judgmental, and empathetic debt advice tailored to the client's situation. Create sustainable budgeting and repayment plans in line with FCA guidelines. Liaise with creditors on behalf of clients to negotiate repayment terms and freeze interest where possible. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and records using internal systems. Monitor clients' progress and conduct periodic reviews of financial plans. Support clients in improving their financial literacy and money management skills. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements. Refer clients to other financial or support services where appropriate (e.g. benefits advice, housing).

Key Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in debt advice, financial services, or customer service roles. Sound knowledge of personal finance, budgeting, and debt solutions (e.g., DMPs, IVAs, DROs). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with vulnerable clients. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCA, GDPR). Proficiency in using financial assessment tools and CRM systems.
