Role Summary

We are looking to hire 2-3 experienced Decorators to join our growing team, working with a local social housing contractor. The role involves carrying out painting and decorating works on both void and occupied domestic properties, ensuring every job is finished to a professional standard.

While painting and decorating will be your primary focus, it's ideal if you can also carry out basic multi-trade workssuch as plaster patching, tiling touch-ups, or minor carpentry repairs. Success in this role means delivering high-quality finishes, maintaining excellent communication with tenants and colleagues, and upholding our company's strong reputation for reliability and care.

Responsibilities

Carry out all aspects of painting and decorating, including surface preparation, painting, wallpapering, and finishing to a high standard. Work on void and tenanted domestic properties, ensuring minimal disruption to occupants. Complete basic multi-trade tasks when required (e.g., small plaster repairs, filling, caulking, minor maintenance). Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining professionalism and respect in every home. Adhere to company health and safety policies at all times. Communicate effectively with supervisors, planners, and team members to ensure smooth workflow and quality outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience as a Decorator within social housing or domestic property settings. Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering a clean, professional finish. Basic multi-trade skills (desirable). Full UK driving licence (essential). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage your own workload. Willingness to travel within the Midlands area. Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) - desirable but not essential.
