In 2020, News UK, which is home to brands including The Sun, The Times, The Sunday Times, TalkTV, talkSPORT, Virgin Radio UK and Times Radio, launched its first diversity strategy which is focused on on three key priorities:

He builds programmes to help diverse talent find their way to our business.

The role: The Diversity Community and Communications Coordinator is a new role within the Diversity team, reporting to the Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to support and promote functions within the diversity team. The remit of this role is to support our Head of D,E&I to manage our partnerships with external community organisations and businesses, support our internal employee networks. The Coordinator will be responsible for the creative communications for DE&I at News UK. In addition, the role will provide administrative support to the Diversity team.

Day to day you will:

Project Coordination
  • Coordinating new projects that develop within the team
Working with the Diversity team to deliver the plan for relevant diversity events (such as Black History Month, South Asian Heritage Month, and International Women\'s Day)

Community - Internal and External
  • Supporting on News UK\'s DE&I partnerships (for example, Black Collective of Media and Sport, the Black Pound Report, UK Black Business Show, Genius Within, The Talent Tap, and the Business Disability Forum)
Working to onboard potential new partnerships and community organisations once identified which can support the DE&I team objectives

Supporting News UK\'s employee Networks. Working closely with the chairs on their network events and projects to help increase their membership and improve their visibility within the business and externally.

Communications
  • Informing relevant stakeholders including; HR departments, Corporate affairs, DE&I team of DE&I initiatives.
Coordinating the creation of communication materials, including: the quarterly DE&I Newsletters; monthly awareness posters, and updating the DE&I website.

General Administrative Support
  • Supporting the Diversity Team and Inclusion with general administrative tasks such as; managing and scheduling meeting, preparation and planning for specific meetings, development of decks, and dealing with new queries for the DE&I team.
Coordinating the execution of any legal contracts and supporting materials.

What we\'re looking for from you:

We are looking for someone who has fire in their belly for driving equity for all people. You are passionate about the media and believe the media should be representative of all peoples.

You do not necessarily have to be from a traditional diversity or HR background but experience within this space is preferred, whether this is professional or from other work/life experiences.

The ideal candidate would have experience of working in a fast paced environment with a high level of professionalism and expectation of delivery.

They also have had experience of planning and administering projects.
