Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to customers while preparing and serving high-quality food items. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that food safety standards are met and that customers receive their orders promptly and accurately.

Duties

Prepare a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and other culinary offerings in accordance with food safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitised. Assist customers with their selections, providing recommendations and upselling additional products when appropriate. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining basic maths skills for pricing and change. Monitor inventory levels of deli products and assist in restocking as necessary to ensure availability. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods, demonstrating effective time management skills. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards at all times.

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation or a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and pricing items accurately. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude towards customers and colleagues. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to help create delicious meals for our customers.
