Overview

The Sycamore in Corbridge is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team for our new concept, Scoop. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products including sandwiches, ice creams and coffees. You will play a crucial part in ensuring food safety standards are met, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, and contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve deli items, ensuring freshness and quality at all times. Adhere to food safety guidelines and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen area. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling when appropriate. Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods. Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock and assisting with ordering as needed. Perform basic maths calculations for portioning and pricing of products. Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth operation within the deli department.

Requirements

Previous experience in a culinary or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. Strong understanding of food safety practices is highly desirable. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Basic maths skills for accurate pricing and portion control. A passion for food preparation and customer service. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.

Pay: 11.44-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
