Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and customer service, ensuring that every customer receives high-quality products and exceptional service. As a Deli Associate, you will play a vital role in food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and creating a welcoming environment for our customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches with attention to presentation and quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Assist customers by providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling products to enhance their experience. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking supplies as needed. Adhere to all health and safety guidelines in the kitchen environment.

Experience

Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role is preferred but not essential. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients accurately. Familiarity with food safety practices and kitchen operations is advantageous. Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A friendly disposition with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with customers. Experience in upselling or promoting products is a plus, contributing to an enhanced customer experience.
