We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality deli products while ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve a variety of deli items, including meats, cheeses, and salads, ensuring freshness and quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, adhering to food safety standards at all times.
Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling additional products when appropriate.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following all health regulations.
Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently when required.
Requirements
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices is essential.
Strong culinary skills with the ability to create appealing presentations of deli items.
Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy setting.
A friendly demeanour with strong communication skills to engage with customers positively.
