We are seeking a talented and experienced Deli Chef / Baker to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, baking, cooking, and with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers the opportunity to lead culinary operations, supervise head chef and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will be responsible for helping head chef to creating innovative menus, helping head chef with overseeing daily kitchen activities, and maintaining a welcoming environment for both staff and guests. Additional full training will be provided.
Duties
Prepare and cook and bake a variety of dishes and cakes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Supervise head chef and kitchen staff, providing support to ensure efficient operations.
Help to head chef to manage food production processes to meet quality and safety standards.
Assist head chef to oversee food safety procedures, including hygiene practices and proper storage of ingredients .
Help to team management efforts, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
Ensure all dishes and cakes are prepared in a timely manner to meet service deadlines.
Assist with menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory control.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times.
Serve as a role model for professionalism and culinary excellence.
Experience
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, baking and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting.
Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities in fast-paced environments.
Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and restaurant operations.
Familiarity with hospitality standards related to serving guests efficiently while maintaining high-quality service levels.
