Deli Counter Assistant

to join our team at 2nd Ave Cafe in Lisburn. This role isn't just about great food and customer service -- it also involves working alongside adults with a learning disability, supporting them in a safe and inclusive working environment. What You'll Be Doing:

Preparing and cooking a range of hot and cold deli items Serving customers with warmth and professionalism Making hot drinks -

barista experience is a bonus!

Using the till and handling cash/card payments Keeping the kitchen and counter areas clean and tidy Supporting adults with a learning disability as they take part in daily tasks Helping with stock rotation and occasional ordering Following all food hygiene and safety procedures

What We're Looking For:

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (required) Experience in food prep, deli work, or kitchens Barista skills or willingness to learn Comfortable using a till and handling money A kind, supportive attitude and good communication skills Good IT skills Experience working with people with learning disabilities is an advantage, but not essential - just a willingness to learn and be respectful Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work as part of a small team
