Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced setting. You will mainly be based in our Porthmadog Shop but may be required to work in Pwllheli some days.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately. Assist in food preparation, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area and kitchen. Help with the assembly of food items, ensuring presentation meets quality standards. Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during peak hours. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfilment. Handle basic maths calculations for order totals and change.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred. Strong understanding of food safety practices. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and order calculations. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work well under pressure in a busy setting. A helpful attitude towards both customers and team members. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required in the kitchen environment.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
