We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deli Manager to oversee the daily operations of our deli department. Key responsibilities
Staff Management:
Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising deli staff.
Fostering a positive work environment and motivating the team.
Addressing employee concerns and conducting performance reviews.
Food Preparation and Quality Control:
Overseeing the preparation and presentation of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and hot foods.
Ensuring food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed.
Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the deli area, equipment, and storage spaces.
Inventory Management:
Ordering and receiving deli products and supplies.
Managing inventory levels, rotation, and waste to minimize loss and ensure freshness.
Coordinating with suppliers and vendors.
Customer Service and Sales:
Providing exceptional customer service and resolving customer complaints.
Developing and implementing merchandising and sales strategies to increase department sales and profitability.
Financial Management:
Monitoring sales, costs, and profit margins.
Managing labor costs and adhering to budget goals.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations, including food safety guidelines like HACCP and Natasha's Law.
Maintaining a safe and accessible environment for both customers and staff.
Essential skills and qualifications
HACCP
Food Safety Level 2/3
Prior experience in a deli or foodservice management role.
Knowledge of deli operations and food safety standards.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in inventory management and ordering systems.
Experience with sales and promotional strategies.
