As a Digital Delivery expert in Deloitte Digital's Commerce offering, you will be instrumental in leading the successful execution of complex digital commerce transformations for our global clients. You will drive impactful change, ensuring the seamless delivery of cutting-edge solutions that redefine how businesses connect with their customers.
About the role:
You will take the lead on key deliverables to establish and articulate a clear delivery structure and vision for projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Deloitte's strategic goals.
You will lead multiple mixed-discipline teams to define and manage project scope, meticulously planning and scheduling delivery across diverse workstreams, adapting agile methodologies to fit project needs and coaching teams on best practices.
You will manage team finances with precision, including forecasting, budget management (for both clients and Deloitte), and navigating consulting nuances such as schemes of work and benefits realisation.
You will lead and inspire cross-functional teams - including business analysts and engineers - fostering cooperation and collaboration across client and globally distributed Deloitte resources, ensuring optimal resource identification and allocation, and managing team performance within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
You will cultivate strong stakeholder relationships, defining responsibilities, articulating complex technical solutions in a business-friendly way to senior stakeholders, communicating project updates with concise messaging.

You will define and execute robust governance frameworks, understanding and adhering to reporting requirements in line with laws, client policies, Deloitte standards, and programme expectations.

You will oversee the full project lifecycle, from inception through to transition and closure (of teams, projects, capabilities, and processes), enacting change without sacrificing quality.

Experience:
Significant experience working on agile software development projects, working as a Delivery Manager / Lead or adjacent role.
Delivery Leadership & Vision:
Proven ability to establish and articulate a compelling delivery vision, define robust project structures, and drive successful execution of complex digital commerce programmes, leading multiple full-stack delivery teams and managing their commercials. Candidates are expected to have 5+ years of experience in a Delivery role on software development programmes.
Project & Programme Management:
Extensive experience in defining and managing scope, planning and scheduling delivery, and managing project finances (including NPV, IRR, ROI, and cost-benefit analysis). Strong business acumen is essential, including project management considerations and the ability to articulate the fundamentals of a business case.
Agile & Delivery Methodologies:
Deep knowledge and practical application of various delivery models, a complete understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC), frameworks, tools, and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) underpinned by a solid grasp of agile delivery metrics. You should have the ability to adapt all of these to project needs and coach teams on best practices, with a metrics-driven approach.
Financial Management & Controls:
Expertise in financial management, including forecasting, budget management, and articulating benefits realisation, with a strong understanding of consulting nuances like schemes of work.
Risk & Incident Management:
Comprehensive experience in managing project risks, including proactive identification, mitigation, and effective incident management and resolution.
Resource Management:
Proven capability in identifying and allocating resources, including capacity planning across diverse, including delivery centres (on-shore, near-shore, off-shore).
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, including defining responsibilities, pre-empting concerns, communicating project updates articulately with concise messaging, explaining the impact of decisions, and resolving conflicts. Capable of conveying key concepts and building relationships with clients at multiple levels of seniority.
People Management & Team Leadership:
Excellent people management skills, including emotional intelligence, the ability to lead, mentor, and manage team performance (using key frameworks), and fostering capability building within teams. You must be a passionate and inspiring leader who can build and run full-stack teams, often across multiple geographies, creating an inclusive culture.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong technical understanding relevant to digital commerce, including knowledge of test and release processes, migration approaches, and security principles and standards, with the ability to feed insights back into product, design, and tech functions. Firm knowledge of programming methodologies and basic architectural principles is expected. Strong experience of the end-to-end cycle of software delivery, from service design to live platform operations, and strong experience of delivering microservice-based architectures. Strong experience of software testing, with an understanding of testing best practice. Good understanding of the technology landscape and how our clients can navigate and take advantage of it.
Consulting & Senior Client Engagement:
Exceptional client relationship management, senior stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills. Ability to act as a trusted strategic advisor, challenge assumptions constructively, pre-empt and address concerns. Clear and concise communication is a must.
