Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods from our warehouse to various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and possess excellent communication skills to interact with our field engineers effectively. This role requires heavy lifting and the ability to navigate various routes efficiently.

Early starts are required to beat traffic and get the maximum delivery coverage per day. This is one of the main goals of this position.

Due to the requirements of the role this may require working longer than a 40 hour week. Over-time is available.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. Load and unload goods, performing heavy lifting as required. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries using company systems and photographic evidence required. Assist in the warehouse when not on delivery routes, including organising stock and preparing orders for dispatch. Ensure that all deliveries are completed in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service. Follow safe working practices.

Requirements

Previous experience as a van driver or delivery driver is preferred. Valid driving licence with a clean driving record. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods. There may be requirements for overnight stays for long distance deliveries and at busy times this can amount to one per week. Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and team members effectively. Familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous. Comfortable lone working and driving long distances - UK based - can include Scotland, Wales and Cornwall. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings as required.
