Vacancy - Delivery Driver / Horticulture Assistant

Meadow Grange Nursery is a large garden centre and nursery situated in Whitstable across two sites. The retail site has an extensive indoor area with over 4 acres of plant displays outdoors. We employ staff who are dedicated to horticulture and who are passionate about customer service. We are currently going through an exciting time of expansion and are looking for a talented individual to work with us at Meadow Grange Nursery. The advertised role is for a delivery driver / horticulture assistant.

Job role :

Your time will be split between driving one of our 3.5 tonne vehicles delivering trees, plants, compost, logs, and other items sold at Meadow Grange Nursery and assisting the Horticulture Team with day-to-day tasks in and around the business.

Essential Skills:

Clean driving licence with ability to drive 3.5 tonne vans.

An individual who can manage lifting and carrying as the role can be physically demanding.

Great Communication skills.

Work unsupervised and as part of a team on daily duties.

Hard working person who can multitask with a can-do approach to work.

Great customer service who will go the extra mile.

Preferred Skills:

Horticulture background is an advantage but not essential.

Experience working in a retail environment.

Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety

Keen to learn and progress through the company.

Responsible to:

Operations Manager / General Manager

Hours of work:

42.5 hours per week, some weekend work will be required and discussed at interview.

Salary:

Dependant on experience.
