Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, looking to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation. Salary is 28,000 per annum going up to approximately 31,500 including supervisor pay and overnight allowances.

Duties

Safely operate delivery vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies Follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, with care to prevent damage or injury Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including obtaining signatures and updating tracking systems Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance requirements promptly Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior at all times Complete all paperwork to the required standard. Installing mattresses and furniture into customer premises

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles Valid full clean UK driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., car licence or HGV licence) Strong driving skills with a clean driving record Experience working in warehouse environments or handling heavy lifting tasks is advantageous Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently Good communication skills to liaise professionally with customers and team members Ability to navigate using GPS devices or maps effectively Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long periods of driving
