Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a confident and reliable Delivery Driver to join our team at North Norfolk Laundry Services. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and delivering laundry across the county for our diverse clientele base, acting courteous and polite to customers and ensuring a prompt service.

You will also be occasionally assisting with the day-to-day operations of the laundry, including operating machinery, washing, drying, and processing items to a professional standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery Driving:

Safely and efficiently drive light goods vehicles, including transit and occasionally Luton vans, to deliver and collect laundry from various customer locations. Ensure accurate and timely delivery and collection of items while providing excellent customer service. Assist with loading and unloading of items, utilising proper lifting techniques and equipment. Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly. Keep the vehicles clean and organised. Understand and meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy laundry/linen items. Adapt to varying work schedules and occasional overtime, including the possibility of working longer shifts during our peak and reduced hours during our quieter season.
Laundry Operations:

Operate laundry machinery, including industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironers, to process laundry. Follow proper procedures for sorting, washing, drying, and ironing laundry to maintain quality standards. Assist with folding, packaging, and organising processed laundry items when necessary.

Additional Information:

This is a full or part time, seasonal position with the potential for tailored hours to fit the right candidate. Operational hours are typically between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime and Saturday work. Work is predominantly based at our North Walsham site. Extra hours may be available at our sister site in Gorleston.

Qualifications and Experience:

Clean UK driving license (essential). COSHH training/certification (desirable). Minimum 1 year of experience as a Light Commercial Vehicle & Delivery Driver (preferred).

Skills and Competencies:

Confident and skilled driver with a strong focus on safety and customer service. Confident and competent in driving vehicles up to 3.5t. Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving heavy items. Attention to detail to ensure laundry items are processed to a high standard. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance.
