Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting hire goods from our site in Poole to various locations, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.

This role requires towing a trailer 95% of the time.

Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Small Telehandlers and non-mech items are transported on our smaller vehicles.

This role requires excellent driving skills, effective communication with both customers and yard and workshop staff. The driving is only part of the role, as we also need an assistant to help our yard staff get the hire fleet ready to go out.

Responsibilities

Operate a delivery van to transport goods efficiently and safely. Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Navigate routes using GPS or maps, maintaining punctuality for all deliveries. Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and returns. Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.

Skills

Proven experience as a Plant Delivery Driver or in a similar role [You must be over 25 to drive for our company] Strong driving skills with a valid driver's licence; experience in commercial driving is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members. Strong organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently. Prepared to learn, and check plant is ready for hire.
