Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver on a self employed basis to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations. The role will be working as part of a 2 Person crew delivering items of furniture to room of choice, so a degree of heavy lifting will be involved.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a delivery van or vehicle to transport goods to designated locations. Load and unload items, ensuring that all products are handled with care. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road. Assist in warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and organisation of stock.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within a warehouse environment is preferred. Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is an advantage. Ability to lift heavy items (up to 25 kg) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer service excellence. Familiarity with local roads and routes is beneficial for efficient navigation during deliveries.
