We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver & Store Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is happy to combine local driving duties with hands-on work in the store.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver materials locally to customer shops across Essex
Collect materials from supplier stores as required
Drive a manual mini van safely and responsibly
Assist store staff with daily operations, including:
Picking items from store locations
Referencing and checking items against orders
Packaging and preparing goods for delivery
General store assistance and support

Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
Deliver goods to clients and customers across designated routes within specified timeframes
Assist with loading and unloading items, including heavy or bulky packages, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly
Uphold professional conduct when interacting with clients, providing excellent customer service at all times
Requirements
Full UK driving licence (manual)
Experience driving a manual mini van
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to work as part of a team and support store staff
Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for manual handling tasks
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations
Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, often involving bulky or heavy items
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
Good organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and adhere to schedules
A clean driving record and the ability to pass background checks and vehicle assessments as required
