Stairway Joinery Southern Limited is a leading manufacturer of bespoke staircases in Poole, Dorset on the South Coast.

We work with our customers to create unique stair products to suit their individual requirements.

Job Overview


We're looking for a reliable and proactive individual to join our friendly team as a Delivery Driver / Workshop Labourer.

This is a varied role combining the safe delivery of bespoke staircases and joinery components efficiently and offer hands-on support in our busy workshop and on-site installations.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting our logistics operations and contributing to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities



Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations. Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, with attention to safety procedures. Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed for as required. Communicate effectively with customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain operational safety standards. Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Represent Stairway Joinery professionally when dealing with clients and site teams.

Requirements



Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is highly desirable. Full, clean Class 1 UK driving licence (5 tonne). Experience with warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting when loading or unloading goods safely. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members. Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently. A responsible attitude towards safety and compliance with road regulations. This position offers an engaging role within our logistics team, requiring dedication, organisation, and excellent driving skills to ensure smooth operations across all deliveries. Punctual, dependable, and takes pride in their work. Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team. Previous experience in joinery, construction, or a similar environment is beneficial but not essential -- training will be provided.
