Job Summary

A candidate is required for immediate start. The candidate must have a good command of the English Language, be well presented, and have a good geographical knowledge of the London and Home counties. We are seeking an individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for driving.

Our company delivers beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks to pubs, restaurants, hotels, office buildings and event companies across London and the Home Counties. You must have at least 2 years of driving experience using a long wheelbase type of van.

Some heavy lifting is involved, as well as receiving, picking, packing, and shipping when working in the warehouse, so a reasonable amount of fitness is needed to complete your daily tasks

You will be expected to help load and unload your vehicle as part of a team, while maintaining a high level of attention so accuracy is achieved while completing all tasks.

Duties

Safely operate company vehicles, to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres. Tuesday to Saturday are the current working days Plan efficient routes to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption. Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit. Communicate effectively with customers upon delivery, providing excellent customer service and handling any queries professionally. Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and receipt confirmations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are maintained. Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedules.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles. Valid driving licence with a good driving record. Experience working in warehouse environments is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively. Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members. Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety procedures. Physical fitness suitable for extended periods of driving and manual handling tasks. Pay: 12.21-12.71 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 43 per week
