We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver/Workshop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the loading and unloading of staircases and components, transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting, ensuring that deliveries are completed in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service. We cover Essex and surrounding counties. When not delivering you will be assisting in the workshop with the manufacture of staircases.
Duties
Operate a van or similar vehicle to deliver goods to designated locations.
Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling of products during transport.
Communicate effectively with customers
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery confirmations and any discrepancies.
Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient loading processes and inventory management.
Ability to navigate efficiently using maps or GPS.
Assist in the workshop with manufacturing as and when required (training given).
Experience
Experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is essential.
Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safe driving practices is essential.
Experience in heavy lifting and handling.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively are required.
Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting with customers and team members.
Carpentry experience and use of hand tools preferred.
General Housekeeping in a factory environment.
