We are seeking a

Furniture Delivery & Assembly Technician

to join our team.

This is a

part-time, self-employed role

, daytime only, typically 2 to 3 days a week which will suit someone wanting reliable, part-time work.

This job requires both delivery and assembly skills - first assisting with the delivery of furniture from our central Birmingham warehouse to the customer, second and most importantly, the skilled assembly of the furniture at the customers house. Assembly skills are the priority for this job.

All of our furniture requires some assembly, from simply adding feet and connectors for sofas to complete assembly for sideboards, TV units etc. Technically, the assembly is the same as any flatpack system, the ideal candidate

must have a good experience / training with assembling furniture or similar assembly / wood working jobs.

Your customer service skills are really important, this is not an average 'delivery' job, it is a skilled service job. Customers look forward to the delivery and installation of their furniture, you will be with them for at least an hour assembling and positioning the furniture - so your service skills are extremely important.

The role

The delivery of sofas, dining tables or flat pack furniture of all types to customers homes The assembly of the furniture (there are instructions!) with manual or power tools. The lifting, carrying and and manoeuvring large items safely and carefully during delivery and installation. The maintenance of a clean and organised work environment at the warehouse, in the vehicle and at customers homes. To understand the importance of customer service and always focusing on maintaining good relationships with customers and colleagues. To receive deliveries at our warehouse, check manifests and store furniture properly. To assist in delivering and setting up displays within our showroom. To remove rubbish from customers homes / our warehouse and dispose of according to regulations. To be happy occasionally working alone or as part of a team.

About you

You are experienced and skilled in furniture installation and flat pack assembly, reading build guides and familiar with hand and small power tools. You are a 'problem solver' with good communication skills and a positive attitude. You are proud of the quality of your work - and know how important this is to customers! While this is mostly physical work, you care about your appearance and understand this is important when you work for a premium brand. You are very reliable and organised, good at planning your day and maintaining record's of your work. You enjoy being on the road and are happy working alone and in a team. You possess a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points. You have at least 7 years driving experience, ideally including more than a year of driving a van. You are physically fit and capable to perform lifting & carrying safely. You know how to package and safely transport high value goods. You are available between 0900 and 1600 three days a week. You live within 30 minutes of Erdington B23 5PN
This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who take pride in delivering exceptional service to customers.

It also offers personal flexibility in that the majority of our installations are Wednesday to Friday between 10am & 4pm and normally within 50 miles of Birmingham.
