As part of the LII Delivery Team, this role will support the delivery of the strategic goals of the Portfolio Solutions business area globally, through the implementation of transformative business process and technology changes. These initiatives will allow us to uplift our priority capabilities, as identified through the business model design work and have been deemed crucial in the achievement of the strategic goals of the organisation.
This role will initially support Bordereaux TOM programme of work which is made up of a number of projects across four key regions, London (LII), Europe (Central), East & North America (West). The Delivery/Project Manager will report to the Senior Delivery Manager and will work closely with partners in Business Architecture, Business Agility, Technology, Change Management, Support functions and directly with the regional Business teams, to drive the day-to-day delivery of major initiatives, small enhancements and / or operating model changes which enable the achievement of LII strategic goals.
As part of the day-to-day delivery of the BDX programme, one of the strategic initiatives within Portfolio Solutions, the project/delivery manager will work ensuring cross-functional delivery remains on track against the plan and objectives, while promptly resolving and escalating issues and risks to maintain the pace of delivery so that business value can be achieved. This will require close collaboration with the various teams and workstreams involved in the end-to-end delivery and close alignment with the Senior Delivery Manager to ensure that visibility is provided regarding progress and any potential challenges. In addition, this role will work closely with the Senior Delivery Manager to ensure consistency in all delivery approaches, including planning, any relevant governance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain project plans, input into roadmaps and other project and programme management planning tools and documents for the BDX portfolio.
Aid the timely delivery and execution of any existing roadmaps and end-to-end delivery plan, continuously refining the latter as delivery progresses.
Collaborate with the Senior Delivery Manager to ensure the delivery approach continues to align to business outcomes and strategic priorities in Portfolio Solutions.
Proactively manages delivery across all workstreams, ensuring milestones are defined and met, and all workstreams have a clear understanding and alignment around timelines.
Support the facilitation of Programme Increment planning, together with the Senior Delivery Manager, to develop Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs) in conjunction with the wider team.
Provide inputs into delivery artefacts, including roadmaps, governance reporting, stakeholder updates, etc.
Own and maintains the existing end-to-end delivery plan across all workstreams involved in delivering bordereaux scheme of work, ensuring all activities are completed on time and that any blockers are understood.
Work with Scrum Masters and product owners to ensure all items in the backlog that are supporting the end-to-end delivery are captured, and aligned to the end-to-end plan with clear timelines.
Work closely with the relevant workstream leads to ensure overall team readiness to support delivery and escalate any resourcing constraints or concerns.
Manage 'go-live' readiness, together with Change Management, before any product releases, ensuring a business readiness checklist is in place and all teams are ready to support the change.
Own the Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAIDs) board and develop a detailed understanding of cross-functional RAIDs, ensuring these are being proactively managed in line with the plan.
Work closely with all workstreams to define the implementation and roll-out plans for each project, incorporating these into the end-to-end delivery plan.
Skills and Experience:
Experience in project management, ideally with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies
Proactive and dynamic self-starter, able to identify milestones and maintain pace of delivery against these
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong team-work, co-ordination, organization and planning skills
Problem solver with the ability to work with global teams to maximize progress, potential and overall effectiveness
Desirable: Knowledge of Specialty Insurance
Desirable: Experience in Bordeaux and Delegated authority management
Desirable: Experience delivering digital products in partnership with Technology teams
Confident in engaging with senior stakeholders, where needed
Ability to create and maintain delivery plans
Ability to proactively manage RAIDs, aptly identifying these, understanding their impact and confidently escalating as required to ensure prompt resolution and / or support
