Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for deliveries to various locations while ensuring professional and efficient conduct at all times. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle some heavy lifting, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy being on the move and working in a dynamic environment. The role will involve early starts and evening finishes, along with supporting other driving roles with holiday cover or sickness.

Duties

Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. Load and unload goods, performing heavy lifting as required. Navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries. Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery status and any potential issues. Holiday cover for other drivers when needed. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and stock organisation. Completion of paperwork to minimum company standard.

Requirements

For insurance purposes we require drivers to be a minimum of 25 years of age. Valid driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points on licence; experience in commercial driving is preferred. A clear understanding of the rules of the road and to habitually abide by them. Previous experience as a Delivery Driver advantageous. Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently. Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. A can do positive approach to work. Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns is beneficial. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer service excellence. Flexibility to work varied hours as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.
