Activities Coordinator

We are currently looking for

5.5 hours one day per week on a Monday.

We are a small specialist care company with big goals, shaped by 13 years of personal experience with Dementia.

We currently provide activity based, person-centered Dementia Day Services 5 days a week in Peterborough, Thrapston, Wisbech, Huntingdon & Spalding.

Our day services are designed for people living in the community, with mid-late stages of Dementia. We provide a safe space for them to come along and simply be in their world (not ours), and take part in various stimulating activities if they wish to. All of our activities are designed for our attendees' capabilities and their individual interests.

This service also provides much-needed respite time for our attendees carers and loved ones.

Ideal candidates will have had previous experience of working in with people who have dementia

, however, we welcome experienced applicants from all care backgrounds provided they meet the specific requirements of the role.

Duties

- Organizing, planning and fully engaging with our attendees with stimulating, tailored activity based care as individuals and as a group. to include, but not limited to :

Music, games, art, exercise, dance, fitness, yoga, board games, darts, painting, reading, bowling etc depending on attendees interests and abilities.

- Ensure all activities provided are safe and withing the abilities and enjoyment of the attendee

- Actively listening & communicating with our attendees, ensuring they feel heard, safe, and happy

- Helping with refreshments and lunch

Our Dementia Day Centers operate on various days in all our existing locations between 9.45am to 3.15pm and we are looking to expand our existing team.

If you know someone living with Dementia, you will understand how important stimulation and social interaction can be for their well-being.

We will provide an Enhanced DBS at our cost for anyone successful in our application process.

All we ask for is consistency and reliability.
