Oradent Dental Practice Lydd has a fantastic opportunity for a Hygienist in a Dental Practice to join their friendly and dynamic front of house team. The person we are looking for needs to be an enthusiastic people oriented team member, with a flair for professionalism within the workplace by coming up with brilliant ideas to help increase patient satisfaction as well as improve practice efficiency and patient service. Ideally the Hygienist would have impeccably high standards.
Oradent Dental Care treats both NHS and private patients in the local community. The successful candidate will be fully supported by our Onsite Team and Operations Team which currently includes the Operations Director, HR Manager, Operations Support Managers, Finance Team and Quality and Compliance Manager who continually work closely with the heads of our hard-working support staff to ensure the Dental Hygienist is able to succeed and deliver their best in the role.
The role of the Dental Hygienist is very important. Being a Dental hygienist is a very demanding job that comes with a lot of responsibility which would include screening patients, educating them about their diet and how it impacts their oral health and counselling them during and after treatment.

The Dental Practice Manager, the successful Dental Hygienist will be responsible for ensuring service delivery and all operational aspects within the specified practice in this role. This with the view to achieve excellent customer service, quality, cost and delivery performance in line with company strategy, goals and values.
Dental Hygienist
The role of the Dental Hygienist:
Counselling patients and keeping them calm during examination and treatment.
Screening patients, including conducting mouth and neck examinations and reviewing oral health history.
Removing plaque, cleaning teeth and helping to prevent gum disease.
Staying current with the latest developments in dentistry.
Collecting medical and dental histories from patients.
Charting dental conditions based on observations and evaluations.
Build and nurture great working relationships with the Clinical team.
Share your knowledge and experience with team members and undertake any suitable training to enhance your job role.
Comply with the dentist health and safety policy and all relevant risk assessments including ergonomic.
Always adhere to the companies policies and procedures.
Accurately update and protect patient information including on the patient electronic database.
You will have experience in compliance and understand the requirements of CQC relevant to your role as a Dental Hygienist.

You should work autonomously, utilising your analytical skills to form an accurate account of a Hygienist.
Ensure the practice continues to grow and attract new patients.
Provide a friendly and polite service to all patients that attend the practice.
Answer all enquiries in a professional, empathetic, polite and courteous manner.
Work closely with clinical staff to ensure optimal diary management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Discussing treatment plans and costs.
Upholding health & safety protocols and maintaining good cleanliness.
To ensure compliance with current legislation such as Fire, Health & Safety, CQC regulations, RIDDOR and COSHH.
Dental Hygienist
Qualifications
A degree in Oral Health Sciences from a GDC - approved programme or Diploma, Higher National Certificate (HNC) equivalent in Dental Hygiene or Dental Therapy.
Registration with GDC
Experience
Have a polite, courteous, caring and compassionate demeanour.
Be organised, and able to manage variable management situations.
Experience with compliance protocols.
Patience and understanding, compassion
Able to work under pressure, with good hand and eye coordination.
A good understanding and knowledge of NHS privacy rules.
At least 2 years experience within the role of a Dental Hygienist.
CPD maintained in line with GDC requirements.
