Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional patient care by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during dental procedures to ensure efficiency and comfort. Support dentists with clinical tasks such as taking x-rays, applying topical anesthetics, and managing dental materials. Maintain accurate and thorough medical documentation, including updating patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Monitor patient vital signs when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of physiology and anatomy to identify any concerns promptly. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions to promote ongoing dental health. Ensure all dental equipment is properly maintained, sterilized, and ready for use at all times to uphold safety standards. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Adhere strictly to medical terminology standards and maintain detailed records of procedures performed for legal and quality assurance purposes.

Qualifications

Experience in nursing or dental assisting with a strong foundation in patient care principles. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining confidentiality of medical records. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members. Ability to perform medical documentation accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Certification or licensing as required by local health authorities for dental nurses or assistants is preferred.
