Job Description

We are currently seeking a

compassionate and experienced Dental Nurse

to work via our agency with a

private healthcare provider

delivering a

triage and assessment service for children and adults with special needs

.

This role plays a vital part in supporting patients who may require additional care, reasonable adjustments, or tailored treatment pathways. The service focuses on

initial assessment and triage

, enabling patients to be appropriately planned for future dental treatment or procedures in a safe, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support dentists and clinicians during

triage and assessment appointments

Provide calm, reassuring support to

children and adults with special needs

Assist with patient preparation, observations, and basic clinical support Help gather relevant clinical and social information to inform treatment planning Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain high standards of

infection control, safeguarding, and documentation

Ensure patients feel safe, respected, and well supported throughout their visit
Requirements

GDC-registered Dental Nurse

(essential) Experience working in

special care dentistry, community dental services, or similar settings

is highly desirable Strong communication and interpersonal skills A patient, empathetic, and professional approach Understanding of safeguarding and working with vulnerable patients Ability to adapt to different clinical environments Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
