Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice, for at least 1 year to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our dental team, ensuring patients receive high-quality care in a comfortable and efficient environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care and interested in developing their career within the dental healthcare sector. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced nurses and those undertaking relevant internships or training programmes.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials before appointments Sterilise and maintain dental equipment to meet health and safety standards Provide pre- and post-treatment advice to patients, including oral hygiene instructions Manage patient records accurately using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality at all times Support with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and patient correspondence Monitor patient wellbeing during procedures, recognising signs of discomfort or distress Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment within the practice

Requirements

Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is desirable Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written Knowledge of nursing practices relevant to dental care Good IT skills for managing electronic patient records and appointment systems Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required A caring attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service Relevant qualifications or training in dental nursing or healthcare are preferred but not essential for internship roles

Pay: From 12.90 per hour
