We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including preparing instruments and materials.
Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout treatments.
Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilise equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Manage patient records accurately using IT systems, ensuring all data is up-to-date and confidential.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient correspondence, and organising clinic supplies.
Communicate effectively with patients to provide instructions for post-treatment care and answer any queries.
Ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health standards at all times.
Welcome patients and ensure they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
Support patients with treatment plans and post-operative instructions
Act as a chaperone when required
Handle patient queries professionally and escalate concerns appropriately
Adhere to GDC standards, CQC requirements, and practice policies
Maintain strict cross-infection control and health & safety standards
Participate in audits, risk assessments, and clinical governance activities
Safeguard patient confidentiality at all times
Assist with stock control and ordering of dental supplies
Support reception and administrative tasks when required
Contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the practice
Attend team meetings and training sessions
Qualifications
GDC registered Dental Nurse
Proven experience in patient care within a dental or healthcare setting is preferred.
Knowledge of nursing practices relevant to dental care.
Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping and appointment management.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in dental nursing or healthcare are desirable but not essential for entry-level candidates.
