Due to practice expansion, Orthodontic Lounge Edinburgh is looking for an enthusiastic dental nurse to join our team. Our consultant led, specialist referral clinic provides a wide range of orthodontic and general nhs/private dentistry services.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our team. As a Dental Nurse, you will provide essential support to our dental professionals and ensure the highest level of patient care. Your role will involve assisting with various orthodontic procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and communicating effectively with patients.
Experience preferred, but no experienced is required as the candidate will be supported towards gaining a SVQ Level 3 qualification in Dental Nursing.
Duties:
- Provide chairside assistance during treatment
- Prepare surgery for patient procedures
- Sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow
- Handle administrative tasks such as referrals, stock, placing orders
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Proficient in using dental software and IT systems
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients of all ages
- Hold GDC registration (preferred but not essential)
