We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our friendly and welcoming dental practice in the heart of Dorking. We are looking for a nurse to join us for 3-4 days a week (preferably Wed-Friday).
Our ideal candidate will be either qualified and registered with the GDC already, or as a trainee, registered on a approved Dental nursing course. The candidate must be fully Hep B immunised to be able to work.
The successful candidate will assist dentists during procedures, provide excellent patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments
Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, ensuring they are well-informed
Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules efficiently
Ensure the sterilisation of dental instruments in accordance with health and safety regulations
Support patients throughout their visit, offering reassurance and addressing any concerns
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment
developing x-rays
In addition you will be asked to learn the reception role and work on reception when required to cover for staff shortages, and complete any admin or cleaning tasks when requested by management. This may include some domestic cleaning to maintain the cleanliness of the practice.
Skills
Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare setting, ideally as a Dental Nurse or in nursing roles
Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining procedures clearly and empathetically
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain accurate records
Good IT skills for managing patient information and appointment systems
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and reliability
Knowledge of dental procedures, infection control standards, and health & safety regulations is desirable
