Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional services. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.

Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Provide chairside support to patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have during treatments. Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, medical histories, and consent forms. Sterilise instruments and ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up with patients as needed. Assist with administrative tasks such as billing, insurance claims, and inventory management of dental supplies.

Qualifications

A recognised qualification in Dental Nursing (e.g., NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing). Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) is essential. Newly qualified nurses are encouraged to apply. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues alike. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required. Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology is advantageous.
