Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled
Dental Nurse
to support our clinical team by assisting dentists during procedures, managing patient care, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable clinic experience.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assistance:
Prepare treatment rooms and assist with a variety of dental procedures (e.g. restorations, crown preparations, hygiene appointments, minor surgical tasks)
Handle instruments, suction, and materials to ensure smooth workflow
Patient Care:
Greet and reassure patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding of procedures
Take and record patient histories, vital signs (BP, pulse, oxygen saturation)
Provide aftercare advice and support following treatments
Infection Control & Sterilisation:
Adhere to HTM-01?05 and CQC standards around decontamination, sterilisation, and cross?infection protocols
Maintain clean, well-organised clinical and waiting areas
Administrative Support:
Schedule appointments, manage patient files, and update dental software
Process payments, send reminders, and coordinate referrals
Health & Safety Compliance:
Monitor and maintain stocks of clinical materials and PPE; order supplies as needed
Ensure proper disposal of sharps and clinical waste
Team Collaboration & CPD:
Work closely with dentists, hygienists, reception, and management to deliver streamlined patient care
Attend regular team meetings, performance reviews, and continuing professional development (CPD) activities
Skills & Qualifications
Recognised
Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing
GDC-registered
with current pin number
Proven clinical experience supporting a busy dental team
Strong
knowledge of infection control procedures
, and experience using decontamination and sterilisation equipment
Clear communication skills and a caring, compassionate manner
Confident in using practice management software (e.g. Dentally, Software of Excellence)
Reliable, organised, and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment
